Retail theft suspects sought by Chelan County Sheriff's detectives

The Chelan County Sheriff's Office is asking for your assistance in locating two people wanted in the investigation of separate thefts at local businesses in the past week.

One of the incidents involved a heavy-set, Caucasian woman with long blonde hair in her 30s who is wanted for stealing merchandise at the Chelan Walmart.

The other wanted person is a Caucasian or Hispanic man in his late 20s or 30s with a slim build and a goatee who is wanted for the theft of several hundred dollars-worth of liquor from the Safeway store in Leavenworth.

Both suspects were captured on surveillance video and still images are available for public viewing at the Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

Sheriff's Chief Ryan Moody said on KOZI Community Connection Tuesday morning that with citizen assistance, detectives have identified both suspects. Investigators will now follow-up on those leads and hope to contact the man and woman responsible for the alleged thefts. The county Prosecuting Attorney will determine what, if any, charges will be filed against them.

Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook:

"We are seeking the public's help in identifying a male suspect who has attempted to steal apparel several times from a clothing shop in Leavenworth."

Chief Moody also mentioned vehicle thefts are being reported countywide and reminded drivers to lock their personal property out of sight to fend off potential break-ins.

Anyone with information about theft suspects is being asked to contact the Chelan County Sheriff's Office.
