Chelan County Emergency Management has reduced evacuation advisories on the Pioneer Fire. Stehekin is now at a Level Two notice, asking residents to be ready in the event the fire makes a move.
"There's no more level 3 in Stehekin. The entire valley, all the way up to high bridge is at a level 2," says Emergency Management Director, Chelan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Reinfeld. "Just as a reminder to the public this does not mean that Stehekin is open for vacationers, it's just residents and property owners at this point."
Incident Commander Lonnie Click says risks on the fire remains. "We're working diligently to try to limit and mitigate the spread up the Stehekin Valley as we move forward," Click added.
Evacuation warnings have also been reduced for the Yaksum Canyon fire in Cashmere and the Shugart Flats Road fire near Plain.
