A round table discussion by the Chelan City Council Tuesday night on a host of topics including transportation in and around the city.
Chelan Mayor Erin McCardle offered a personal invitation to citizens to attend a transportation open house at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12 at Chelan High School.
"We really need the communities input," said McCardle.
"It will be an opportunity for us to share some of the transportation projects and priorities we've been talking about that will eventually make their way to our six-year transportation improvement plan," added city Communications Director Chad Coltman. "We'll be talking about the transportation survey we've launched which has been phenomenal. "
"We've had over 580 responses so far.," Coltman stated. "A couple hundred ideas that have been rated, and how that community feedback will make its way back to practical applications."
Information will also be shared about the Transportation Benefit District proposal on the November 5 ballot. A .03 sales and use tax increase, which is estimated to raise $900,000 annually, to fund future transportation projects.
Coltman says there will also be an interactive activity for citizens to take part in at the open house.
