The Chelan High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter shared their accomplishments at the National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis through Saturday.
"This group worked hard to earn the funds to go, and met and spoke with Temple Grandin, the main speaker today," said Leanne Dupuis. "This is a wonderful group of teens."
The students heard from Mary Temple Grandin, an American academic and ethologist. She is a prominent proponent of the humane treatment of livestock and the author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior.
The local students, in addition to showing off their agricultural prowess, aspire to attain careers in biology, chemistry, engineering and animal sciences.
Students with the North Central Washington FFA chapter also attended.
