[4/25/19] Methow Headwaters
After more than five years work by Methow Valley community members, government agencies, and government officials from both sides of the isle, the John D. Dingle Jr Conservation Management and Recreation Act was signed by President Donald Trump. The Act provides protection for the Methow Headwaters.
Maggie Coon, Board Chair for the Methow Valley Citizens Council and with the Methow Headwaters expressed what it all means for residents:
Early in March the Methow Headwaters Protection Act was included as part of a bigger bill and passed by a large margin in both the house and the senate.
Coon goes on to explain what was the driving force to get people behind the proposal:
With this protection, residents can enjoy clean water and greater access to public lands in the Methow Valley.
