CVCN is hiring a bilingual/bicultural Community Health Worker to assist the Community Nurse in Spanish language visits, home visits as directed by RN, collaboration, and referrals with community partners. The CHW would also participate with the RN at Spanish language BP screenings. We are looking for someone who is passionate about this expansion of our program, enjoys working with people, has good listening skills, and is compassionate and caring. The hours at this point are dependent on funding. The training for this position is free and the costs of travel are funded. The training consists of an eight-week combination of online and in-person training designed to strengthen the common skills, knowledge, and abilities of the Community Health Worker. The next training will begin in July, offered in the Seattle area and Moses Lake. We would like to offer the position now and begin offering blood pressure screening clinics in the Spanish speaking churches as soon as possible, and have someone onboard before the CHW classes begin.
