About nine years ago, local soul band Brothers from Different Mothers got together for the first of eight fund raisers we did for the Lake Chelan Minesterial Association Food Bank. We loved playing music together and looked at this as a way to do some good with our music during the holiday season. Our fearless leader Kelly Bainbridge came up with the idea to play the Vogue for donations which would be used to provide Christmas meals for those in need. We played some great shows, had a whole lot of fun and raised quite a bit of money to provide Christmas dinners over the first eight years. With the passing of Kelly Bainbridge earlier this year, The Brothers from Different Mothers Band (Bob Soost, Bob Hougham, Dan Quigley, Randy Thatcher, Kelly Bainbridge, Joe Guimond and a host of other great musicians over the years) ended a great 12 year run as a band. Kelly loved doing this event, loved playing with the Brothers and we are proud to be able to keep it going.

This year, my band Velvet Elvis (Mike Bills, Aaron Parrott and myself) is taking over as the house band for this wonderful event which will be held on Friday December 15th at The Vogue. Music will kick off at 8 pm and go until 10 pm or so. We are planning to have several special local musical guests join us throughout the evening. Bob Hougham and Bob Soost from Brothers from Different Mothers will join us, as will Dave Riel from Loose Change. More information on other guests as we get closer to the event.

Again, every single dime that goes in the tip jar goes directly to the Lake Chelan Minesterial Association Food Bank to provide Christmas dinners. People who cannot attend that night are welcome to drop off donations at The Vogue. We sincerely hope that many of you can join us as we Play for Dinner on Friday December 15th at The Vogue.
