[6/20/19] Drug Find

Posted in Law EnforcementTagged , , ,

The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit found two suitcases full of Methamphetamine Monday near Mazama as they assisted Homeland Security with a smuggling investigation.

The drugs, weighing in at 186 pounds, have an estimated street value of around 1 million dollars.

Sgt. Gene Davis and his K-9 partner Gunner, who have been together for six years, located the two suitcases in a heavily brushy area of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

Because the investigation is ongoing, details surrounding the discovery are being withheld… but it would be safe to say that Sgt Davis and Gunner were not randomly searching the forest.

There has some speculation that the drugs were tossed out of an airplane but those reports are unconfirmed.
