IN GIRLS ACTION:
Granger came out on fire against Chelan building an early 20 point lead against the cold-shooting goats. Granger star guard Alexis Castro scored 24 points and Granger as a team hit 10 3s. Last years 3rd place state team appears to have all the tools to repeat their success in Yakima this upcoming March. The goats got 8 points a piece from Senior Madi Harrison, Sophomore Lexie Gleasman and Freshman Molly Oswald. Senior Guard Katie Gleasman also chipped in 6 points.
Coach Steve Nygreen quote, “Very proud of the effort against one of the top teams in the state. Our youth and inexperience showed with the mistakes we made, but I like what I saw from our 3 freshman (G Molly Oswald, F Emma McLaren and C Ashley Sams). We’ll shoot better than we did at Granger. Our AD Rob Rainville does a great job of scheduling tough early season games so we have chance to challenge ourselves and prepare for league.”
Granger Scoring – Alexis Castro 24, 3 others with 9
Chelan Scoring – Madi Harrison 8, Lexie Gleasman 8, Molly Oswald 8, Katie Gleasman 6
