An early morning fire on the Southshore of  Lake Chelan completely destroyed a 2200 square foot home in the Sunnybank Community.

Rivercom Dispatch received a call at 3:41 AM Saturday morning reporting a house fire at 4045 Sunnybank Drive. The reporting party stated that everyone was out of the house before adding that they thought the fire had been intentionally set.

The first firefighters to arrive on the scene reported a fully involved structure fire along with a slow moving brush fire.   At 3:54 AM, at the request of Chelan Fire and Rescue, Rivercom toned a 2nd Alarm requesting additional fire support.

On site Command declared the fire “Defensive” just after 4 AM shifting focus to protection of nearby homes and adjacent property. It took several hours to eliminate further fire risk.

The home at 4045 Sunnybank was a complete loss but adjacent homes were not damaged. The Chelan County Fire Marshall is investigating the cause of the fire which is officially listed as unknown.
