[12/19/16] Winter Storm Warning For Leavenworth, Twisp, Winthrop and More

The Spokane Office of the National Weather Service- has elevated an earlier Storm Watch to a Winter Storm Warning covering Leavenworth, Mazama, Twisp, Winthrop, Stehekin, Blewett Pass and Loup Loup Pass.

A pair of winter storms is expected to move into the region: the first one today, with a second following close behind tonight and tomorrow.

Heavy snow will develop this evening, expecting 4-8 inches of snow in the valley, 10-16 inches in the mountains.

The majority of valley accumulations will occur by early Wednesday morning.

Snow covered roads will result in hazardous travel and gusty west winds developing Wednesday afternoon.

Again, the national weather service has issued a winter storm warning for Leavenworth, Mazama, Twisp, Winthrop, Stehekin, Blewett Pass and Loup Loup Pass. Plan for winter driving conditions.
