[11/2/16] Today Is Deadline For Comment On Proposed Carlton Cannabis Store

Posted in Feature

Today is the deadline to submit comment either for or against the proposal to place a new marijuana retail store in the community of Carlton.

Okanogan County zoning code requires a conditional use permit for new cannabis businesses. The permits provide an opportunity for public comment and may place conditions on how the business operates.

According to Okanogan County records, Endicott Enterprises has submitted an application to operate Carlton Cannabis, a 400 sq foot retail marijuana store adjacent to the Carlton General Store.

The Okanogan County Planning Director, has determined that Carlton Cannabis would not have an adverse impact on the environment.

The county has not yet set a date for a public hearing, but residents can comment on both the county’s environmental determination and the proposed store itself.

Comments on the environmental review must be submitted in writing by no later than today.

To comment or for more information, contact Pam Wyllson in the County Planning Department at 509-422-7122.
