Registered voters inside the Three Rivers Hospital Taxing district are being asked to approve two propositions that would fund necessary equipment and infrastructure improvements.

Three Rivers Hospital serves Brewster and surrounding communities, including portions of Douglas County, Methow Valley, Pateros Mansfield and Bridgeport.

Three Rivers Hospital CEO, Scott Graham, says the hospital is trying to raise enough capital to make some much needed changes…

In order to do that, the hospital is asking voters to approve two separate levies.

The first, a levy lid lift that wold increase the tax amount from 63 cents per $1,000 assessed value to 75 cents…

That special tax levy would be in the form of a one time tax of $1 per $1,000 assessed value.

Graham says voters saw both propositions in the November 2015 general election. The levy lid lift received 49.11 percent of the votes- just shy of the 50% plus one needed to pass.

The special one-time levy received 50.75% in favor, however that proposition requires 60% approval rate to pass.

Graham says that although they were disappointed in the results from the 2015 general election- they can’t help but also be thankful it was so close…

Jennifer Marshall serves as CEO Scott Graham’s Executive Assistant. She tells KOZI that hospital officials will be holding a community meeting next week as they continue their work at informing all voters throughout the district…
