The fire socking parts of the Wenatchee Valley with thick smoke and closing Highway 97A is forcing postponement of this weekend’s “River Ramble” that was set to takplace at Rocky Reach Dam Visitor Center.
It was to run Friday and Saturday howevger potential closure of the highway leading to the Visitor Center, smoke in the valley compounded by expected high temperatures create a health and safety risk that prompted the decision to postpone.
“It makes my heart heavy to delay the wonderful program we had planned, but it just makes sense to reschedule River Ramble,” said Visitor Services Manager Debbie Gallaher.
Gallaher hopes to reschedule the event for sometime in September. Visitors should check back with the PUD at www.chelanpud.org
