PLANS FOR LCCH AND CLINIC TO MERGE
We are excited to announce that Lake Chelan Community Hospital (LCCH) and Lake Chelan Clinic are planning to merge into one organization under Lake Chelan Community Hospital, said Kevin Abel, LCCH CEO.
The tentative date for the change is later this summer and is pending final approval by both the owners of Lake Chelan Clinic and the Board at LCCH.
Clinic and hospital consolidations have been occurring throughout the nation over the last several years, with a recent local example of Central Washington Hospital and Wenatchee Valley Medical Center merging to become Confluence Health, said Abel.
Advantages to merging include consolidating family practice and specialty physicians, obtaining Provider Based Rural Health Clinic designation, sharing overhead costs such as insurance, physician recruitment and coordinated patient quality programs.

STUDDED TIRES MUST BE OFF
Midnight tonight is the deadline for drivers to remove studded tires.
Drivers with studded tires after Monday could get a $124 ticket.
The Transportation Department wants studded tires off the road because they cause highway ruts and damage bridge decks.
