Chelan Native Big Sky Player Of The Week 10/31/2013

Former Chelan standout volleyball player Courtney Dietrich was named the Big Sky Volleyball Player of the Week. Dietrich a freshman middle-blocker at Sacramento State helped the Hornets to an undefeated record in last weeks games with wins over Eastern Washington and Portland State.

Dietrich was the first freshman from Sacramento State to win Player of the Week since her teammate Kayla Beal had the honor of doing so in 2010.

The Chelan native had at least 7 blocks and 8 kills as well as 1 hit in each of the games against Eastern Washington and Portland State. Dietrich set personal season highs against Portland State with 10 kills and 8 blocks while also hitting .444 which isn't far from her high of .500

Dietrich's skills will be on display on a four match road trip against Southern Utah on Halloween and Northern Arizona on Saturday.

The Sacramento State Hornets are 12-11 on the season and 7-5 in conference as they sit 5th place in the Big Sky Conference.
