International Walk To School Day 10/8/2013

Tomorrow, an estimated 20,000 students, parents, teachers and community leaders from cities across the state will participate in International Walk To School Day, including those heading to school right here in Chelan.

The Washington State Department of Transportation supports the efforts as part of Safe Routes to School, an ongoing program that encourages walking and bicycling throughout the year.

Charlotte Claybrooke, WSDOT Safe Routes to School Coordinator, says 3,200 schools from all 50 states are expected to participate in the event...
