What Does The Haze Mean For Air Quality? 8/1/2013
With several wildfires burning in our region- smoke is likely to cause poor air quality- but Chelan Douglas Health District warns that the air quality index will vary for a few days- and encourages the public to get informed before heading outside.

The Air Quality Index tells you how clean or polluted your air is, and what associated health effects might be of concern for you. It has been divided into six categories:
Good (green) – Moderate (yellow) – Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (orange) – Unhealthy (red) – Very unhealthy (purple) – and Hazardous (maroon)-

And, Mary Small, Public Information Officer for Chelan Douglas Health District says it can change throughout the day-

Less than 1 mile = hazardous
