Local Farmer Dies In Tractor Accident 6/25/2013
Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett reports this morning at about 4:45 A.M., Rivercom received a 911 call from a subject claiming his father had been run over by a tractor and the tractor was on fire.  The incident ultimately claimed the life of 68 year old John W. Marker of Manson.  The accident occurred at the Chelan View Orchards which is located at about milepost 3 on Highway 150 just outside of Chelan.  Marker was drying cherries with an orchard tractor when the tractor he was operating went over a six foot embankment.  The tractor rolled, but it is unknown if or how Marker was struck by the tractor or if there may have been medical issues involved.  He was located just in front of the burning tractor by his son, who attempted to pull him from the area.  Aid crews arrived and CPR was performed on Marker, but they were unsuccessful in saving his life.
