Winthrop Denies Request For Speed Indicator 5/8/2013
Winthrop Town Council unanimously voted against a request from citizens to install a speed indicator sign on a busy town street at their meeting last week- after continuing the conversation from a meeting last month.

Winthrop Mayor, Dave Acheson, says the requests came in as Castle Avenue construction continues- with state Transportation Improvement Board funds potentially available to pay the $5 thousand for each speed indicator.

The council will continue to discuss other options to remedy the issue including increased patrol.
