Bridgeport Fights Crime With Block Watch 4/22/2013
Despite a recent report from the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office that says crime is down- residents of Bridgeport are calling for a Block Watch Program in an attempt to stop the recent issues.
Bridgeport Mayor, Marilynn Lynn, says they continue to see what appears to be a gang influence with a presence of graffiti, vandalism and burglaries- and the City plans to help present the neighborhood block watch program to the community next week.
Mayor Lynn says those who are a part of the block watch program basically serve as the eyes and ears for the sheriff’s office.
The Bridgeport Block Watch Program meeting will be held next Wednesday, May 1st at 7pm at the BridgeportHigh School and the entire community is invited and encouraged to attend.
