Cities Join To Talk Law Enforcement 4/22/2013
A now banded group of four cities in ChelanCounty is asking to begin negotiations regarding contract services with ChelanCounty Sheriff’s Office early next month.

Chelan, Entiat, Cashmere and Leavenworth all signed a letter stating their intent to negotiate for law enforcement services as a team- hoping add strength to the contract discussions.

Chelan Mayor, Bob Goedde, says negotiations with the county were more one-sided conversations in previous years.

Goedde adds that the cities are not taking issue with the service they receive- but with the continued rising costs that comes with it.

The current contract has the City of Chelan paying an annual cost of $135 thousand for five officers and one supervisor, plus additional costs for RiverCom services and jail fees.
