Lack of Funds Halts Yard Waste Collection 3/14/2013
Are these recent spring days making you want to get in the yard and get to work? You aren’t alone- there will probably be plenty of people with that same idea, but Chelan County Public Works Department is warning Chelan residents that the brush drop-off site at the ChelanRecyclingCenter will not be open until early next month.
Brenda Harn, the Solid Waste Coordinator with ChelanCounty Public Works, told KOZI that the yard waste collection program will undergo two major changes this year: there will be a gatekeeper, and a fee.
Harn adds that the County Public Works Department is the lead agency in the solid waste program, and is looking to hire a brush gatekeeper to start the first of April.
If you are interested in applying for the position of Solid Waste Brush Gatekeeper, send a letter of interest and a resume to Chelan County Public Works Department at 316 Washington Street- suite 402- Wenatchee WA 98801 by next Thursday, March 21st.
