Gjesdal Reinstates Auxiliary Program 2/4/2013
DouglasCounty residents who plan to leave on vacation will once again benefit from the recently reinstated auxiliary patrol aimed at watching homes while residents are out of town.
Douglas County Sheriff Harvey Gjesdal, says the program, which originated in 2000, was halted last year due to high fuel prices.
Gjesdal told KOZI that in the past two years alone, the auxiliary patrol has volunteered nearly 3 thousand hours, adding that they are much more than just vacation house watchers.
If you are a DouglasCounty resident and are interested in learning more about the auxiliary patrol program- or if you would like to volunteer- contact the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office at 884-0941.
