Last night’s open house, hosted by the Washington State Department of Transportation, saw a flood of local citizens who asked question, wrote comments and learned more about the proposed alternatives for the SR 150/No See-Um intersection.
DOT officials say that ____ visited the open house, which was set up at ChelanCity Hall.
The DOT is considering two options, one came from a study done in 2006 that would move the intersection west, towards Manson, and realign a stretch of the highway closer to the lake. That option would run about $9 million.
The second option, designed and seemingly favored by the DOT is a roundabout. That option would cost around $5 million.
Project Engineer for WSDOT, Kevin Waligorski, admits roundabouts are rarely met with a great deal of public support.
So, what’s next?
KOZI will remain in contact with DOT officials as they sort out their next move."CLICK HERE" for Audio
