Election officials have gathered the remaining ballots from Tuesday’s Primary Election, that were mailed or dropped in boxes throughout Chelan, Douglas and OkanoganCounties, and though the new totals will only affect a few measures- many voters are waiting at the edge of their seats to see those final tallies.
Of those that could potentially be swayed by ballots yet to be counted includes the Lake ChelanCommunityHospital bond- which garnered just short of 58% approval, but needs 60% to pass.
The proposed bond seeks $19 million as part of a financing package to build a new $30 million hospital on 12- acres in the AppleBlossomCenter.
Election Administrator for ChelanCounty Auditor’s office, Nissa Burger, told KOZI that they collected the remaining ballots yesterday and will have another count by the end of the day on Friday.
In Okanogan County, remaining ballots could change the outcome of the race for Superior Court Judge Position 1 between Karl Sloan who has 40% of the votes and Henry (Hank) Rawson who has 60% based on the preliminary numbers from Tuesday night.
