Tomorrow marks the kick off for Operation Dry Water- a nation wide program that was launched in 2009 and is held each year during the weekend before the 4th of July holiday.
The program is aimed at reducing the number of alcohol related accidents and fatalities on the water by increasing marine patrol to educate boaters in all the various aspects of recreational boating.
Chelan County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol Coordinator, Sergeant Randy Foltz, told KOZI news that alcohol is more hazardous on water than on land.
