Residents who routinely commute up and down the EntiatRiverValley will likely notice an increase in helicopter traffic as ChelanCounty PUD Contractors build a 6-mile transmission line northwest of Entiat.
The project is designed to expand electrical service capacity and add reliability for the valley.
The current system, a single, low voltage transmission line that was built in 1940- is near capacity, particularly during winter months.
PUD Project Manager, George Velazquez (VEL-AS-KEZ), said the heavy lifting will begin soon.
Velazquez says the PUD chose to contract out the majority of the work on this project.
The project is expected to be completed in December, 2012 with the entire line being energized in early 2013. The total cost of the project is estimated to be right at 10 million dollars."CLICK HERE" for Audio
