The Port of Chelan County will present a proposal to the Entiat City Council at their regular meeting tonight that could extend the route for electric vehicle charging stations to Entiat, and possibly beyond.
Entiat could fill a critical link in Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure that would eventually allow cross state journeys to Leavenworth, Wenatchee or StevensPass, where other chargers would be located.
It could also pave the way for alternative energy drivers to extend their journey to the Lake Chelan area.
Entiat Mayor, Keith Vradenburg, says the Port of Chelan County requested an opportunity to meet with the council at tonight’s meeting.
Each station provides both a trickle charge and a faster charge, servicing two electric vehicles simultaneously. These 240-volt fast-charge units allow EV drivers to recharge while they enjoy recreational activities. Owners of vehicles will gain approximately 15 miles of range for every hour of charging. Nearly empty batteries will require four to six hours to fully charge — perfect for a day of skiing, biking or hiking.
