Powerful Rachel's Challenge In Brewster 4/10/2012
Brewster Pateros and Bridgeport school districts have joined forces to bring Rachel’s Challenge to students and community members tomorrow evening at BrewsterHigh School.
Brewster Superintendent, Eric Driessen tells us the three school districts are hoping to make this a big event.
Rachel’s Challenge was developed after the 1999 ColumbineSchool shootings and is based on the life of student Rachel Scott, who was killed in that incident.
Rachel’s Challenge is said to be one of the most life changing school programs in America, targeted to motivate students to replace bullying and violent behavior with kindness and compassion.
Rachel’s Challenge Presenter, Pat Nixon, says Rachel Scott has affected the lives of millions, but she was just a normal teenage girl.
Nixon adds that his organization presents to school in hopes of making a difference, offering tools to help make school a warm and welcoming place.
Don’t miss your chance to see this powerful presentation. It kicks off for community members tomorrow night at BrewsterHigh School at 6 pm with a free dinner, followed by the presentation at 6:30.
