The Methow Valley School Board is striving to set a new standard when it comes to engaging their community in school business by making monthly phone calls to parents within the district.
Every board member calls ten parents each month and brings those conversations to their meetings to help decide important school issues such as curriculum, dress code, tolerance policies and punishments. The system has proven to be a very effective tool for both parents and school officials.
Superintendent, Mark Wenzel says each board member has a list of parents they are obligated to make contact with at some point throughout the school year.
The Methow School Board meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month- their next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11th at 5:30 PM in the Liberty Bell High School Library.
