Fatal Accident Claims Life of Chelan Woman 1/18/2012
We now know that yesterday’s fatal auto accident on 97A south of Entiat claimed the life of a well known and much loved Chelan woman.

The Washington State Patrol reports 68 year old Kristine Gavin, who we knew as “Gay” Gavin, was northbound on 97A at about 3:30 yesterday afternoon when she lost control of her car and crossed the centerline. Gavin’s Lincoln town car struck an oncoming pick-up truck driven by a 43 year old Wenatchee driver. “Gay” Gavin was declared dead at the scene. The Wenatchee driver is being treated for injuries at CentralWashingtonHospital.

Gay Gavin was the matriarch of the community minded Gavin Family and will be missed as a mother, wife and friend. Together with her husband “Rick” they owned and operated the Lake Chelan Mirror newspaper in its heyday.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Gavin Family and friends.
