Wenatchee Mayor Dennis Johnson says he’s still optimistic about the city’s participation in the development of the Pybus Public Market.
He applauded action taken last week by the Port of Chelan County to purchase the property.
Meanwhile, the city council waits to hear back from its subcommittee, which has been studying the project’s feasibility.

In announcing its purchase of the property, the Port District indicated that it’s prepared to go forward with developing the property with or without the city’s involvement.
