Several power outages were reported around Chelan County Thursday afternoon as winds gusted above 30 mph.
Lasting just six minutes, the outage with the largest impact occurred at 4:07 p.m. when the high-voltage line carrying power from the Rocky Reach Switchyard to Chelan tripped off-line.
That line provides power to more than 2,200 Chelan County PUD customers living on the south shore of Lake Chelan and south along Highway 97A to Entiat, among others.
PUD system operators were able to restore service by remote control to most customers by 4:13 p.m. Wind is believed to be the cause.
