[5/26/16] Manson’s Cameron Is Discus District Champ

ON TO STATE!

 

Manson Trojans move 8 to state after weekend District meet.

 
 Special recognition needs to be thrown out to Mason Cameron, who won the district title in the discus.  This is the 4th year in a row that the discus has been won by a Manson athlete.  Several school records were set at the meet as well.  These include-
 
1.  The girls 4×200 relay team (Daicy Leyva, Baylee Ward, Delacey Machus, and Maddee Ward) in a time of 1:52.9.
2.  Spencer Ward ran 52.02 to break the 400m record.
3.  Mason Walters cleared 6’0″ in the high jump to tie the old school record.
4.  The girls 4×400 relay team ran 4:28.5 to break their record from last year (Leyva, Ward, Machus, and Ward).
5.  The boys 4×400 relay shattered the old school record by 5 seconds in a time of 3:37.8.  (Josiah Schwinge, Mason Walters, Jakob Kristiansen, Spencer Ward)
 
State Qualifiers-
1.  Baylee Ward- 100m
2.  Girls 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relay teams (Daicy Leyva, Baylee Ward, Delacey Machus, Maddee Ward)
3.  Spencer Ward- 400m
4.  Jakob Kristiansen- 800m
5.  Mason Cameron- Discus
6.  Mason Walters- High Jump
