[10/24/16] Manson District Making Good Use Of Federal Grant Funding

Chelan County Fire District 5- the Manson Volunteer Fire Department– is ready to try their hand at another cycle of FEMA funding- called the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

In 2013, the district was awarded roughly $250 thousand to replace an aged water truck- which has been in service now for one year.

In August of this year, the district was awarded another $130 thousand to replace their Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.

Now, Fire Chief, Arnold Baker, says the district is turning their attention to the next round of funding…

The Assistance to Firefighters grants represent a major effort by the federal government to ensure the nation’s firefighters continue to have the basic capability they require to do their jobs, improve safety and save lives.
