[6/29/16] Lake Chelan Hits Fullest For This Year – Will See Gradual Lowering Mid-July

Chelan County PUD met and exceeded all minimum target elevations for Lake Chelan this year- and is now at its fullest for this year.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued licenses authorizing Chelan County PUD to operate the Lake Chelan hydroelectric project- but must  implement and comply with all of the federal license requirements, which includes target elevation levels for the lake.

Becky Keating, Senior Analyst Specialist for Chelan County PUD, says a full lake is good news, but there is some bad news regarding the snowpack and runoff…

The current lake level is just above 1099.5.

Keating says, the lake level will begin dropping in a few weeks…
