Ever wondered what it’s like to be a cop? Ever wondered what a traffic stop or crime scene investigation is like from the police perspective? You’ll have your chance to find out starting next month, when the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office begins a 12-week Citizens Academy. Chelan County Deputy Adam Musgrove:

The Citizen’s Academy is scheduled to begin Tuesday September 20th at the Wenatchee Valley Technical Skills Center off Easy Street in North Wenatchee.

Musgrove says it will be a chance for anyone to see police work from their perspective:

Similar academies have been held in Wenatchee and other cities; if this 14-week program is a success, Musgrove says it may be repeated in other areas of the county, maybe in Chelan or Leavenworth. Attendance in the class is limited to 30 people, and at last word there were already 20 signed up. Deadline for applications is September 1st; to enroll for one of the remaining slots, you can print out an application from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office website, you can find a link to it from our site at http://kozi.com
