In a world where facts and truth are blurred by politics and opinion, two things remains real: the human capacity to feel is vast and storytelling can be activism. Miles Hodges, with just a microphone and spoken word, harnesses the power of storytelling and finds a way to make the sad become beautiful, the beautiful becomes necessary.
Miles Hodges is an internationally acclaimed performance artist and writer from New York City. A graduate of University of Pennsylvania, Miles is a founding member of The Strivers Row and was named as one of The Root’s 100 Young Futurists for his genre building poetry. He has been featured on HBO, seasons two and three of TVOne’s Verses and Flow, and Brave New Voices. A national slam champion, Miles was the inaugural performance artist in residence at The New York Public Library, where he founded the flagship series “Live from Rikers”. He lives in Harlem.
