This Oscar-winning work from Denmark took home the 1988 award for Best Foreign Language Film. It tells the tale of a Parisian refugee named Babette who lands in a tiny and remote seaside town in the mid-19th century, where she finds work as a servant and cook for the beautiful and devout daughters of a Danish Lutheran minister. There Babette remains for many years until a surprise windfall puts the idea in her head that she could travel back to France, fetching the ingredients for a sumptuous French feast prepared for the village both to repay the sisters for their kindness and as a memorial celebration of the late minister’s 100th birthday.
The meal that follows proves to be an eye-opening experience for everyone.
After enjoying this beautifully wrought work of cinema, the curtains will rise and you will be invited to partake in an eye-opening feast of your own, inspired by the film, prepared and presented by talented and creative chef de cuisine, Chef Richard Kitos.
Tickets: $65 General Admission, $75 at the door (if available) includes movie, meal and drinks.
