Chelan County Commissioners are spending part of their meetings this week exploring contingency plans in case some sort of emergency knocks out part or all of their facilities. Commissioner Doug England says they’re meeting with both Sheriff Brian Burnett and the County’s Emergency Management Specialist, Stan Smoke, to discuss the County’s “Continuity of Service”:

England says about half of the facilities are ready to go at a moment’s notice, the other half are being located and allocated now. That’s part of the duties of Stan Smoke, the former Wenatchee Fire Chief who was brought out of retirement to serve the County in a consulting role for this project.
