[8/8/16] Council To Discuss Tweaking Noise Ordinance To Allow Overnight Road Work

Posted in Local Government & Meetings, Transportation

As part of tomorrow’s Chelan City Council meeting, an amendment to the city’s current noise ordinance will be considered in anticipation of next summer’s major roadwork between Manson and Chelan.

Washington State Department of Transportation crews will be constructing a roundabout at the State Route 150- No-See-Um intersection, and will also be repaving State Route 150 from Chelan into Manson.

Chelan City Administrator, Paul Schmidt, says the proposed ordinance would allow crews to work on the project throughout the night…

080816 City Noise Ordinance 1 :23 “…from 8pm to 7am.”

The situation, Schmidt admits, doesn’t set easy with many who travel between Chelan and Manson on a regular basis…

080816 City Noise Ordinance 2 :21 “…have it drag out.”

Schmidt says WSDOT representatives will be on hand at Tuesday’s Chelan City Council meeting- and recommends that anyone interested in that project attend Tuesday’s meeting…

080816 City Noise Ordinance 3 :26 “…of valuable information.”

Also on Tuesday’s Chelan City Council agenda is the Lookout Winery District Phase 1 Final Plat- a golf cart ordinance amendment, as well as a Chelan County PUD substation update.

An executive session is also listed with discussion with legal council on matters of potential litigation.

KOZI will take a closer look at some of those matters in tomorrow morning’s news.
