[10/5/16] Chelan County PUD On Board With New High Voltage Transmission Line
Chelan County PUD Commissioners gave their nod for continued participation in planning and design for a new high-voltage line to be built in a joint venture with Douglas and Grant County PUD’s and Bonneville Power Administration.
Chelan County PUD Commissioner, Randy Smith, told KOZI that the nearly $18 million project has been on the radar since 2004…

Smith says the project is aimed at reducing current lines and preparing for future growth…
100516 PUD Transmission Line 2 :31 “…outside of chelan county.”
The 230-kilo volt transmission line project comes with a price tag of $17.8 million with Bonneville picking up about 42% of the tab.
Chelan County PUD’s cut is estimated at $4.2 million.
Smith says all four partners will have the opportunity to opt-out after more precise cost estimates are finished- likely by next summer.
