[10/21/16] Chelan County Certified Nurse Suspended For Unprofessional Conduct

Posted in Health

The Washington State Department of Health has suspended the license of a Chelan County healthcare provider.

The Department’s Health System Quality Assurance Division works with boards, commissions and advisory committees to set licensing standards for more than 80 healthcare professions, including medical doctors, nurses and counselors.

In August, the Secretary of Health suspended the certified nursing credentials of Kristen M. Romig for at least 10 years.

In 2016 Romig was convicted of 1st degree theft, 2nd degree identity theft and 2nd degree possession of stolen property. The convictions were the result of Romig financially exploiting a person to whom she provided care.

Her sentence for the criminal convictions require evaluations and treatment for chemical dependency.

Information about healthcare providers is on the Department of Health Agency website at doh.wa.gov-
