PUD Commissioner Steve McKenna says a replacement for the current substation was getting to be a priority:
Chelan County PUD says they do not anticipate any traffic disruptions while work is underway- but be aware that trucks and heavy equipment will be using South Lakeshore Road, Shady Pass Road and Slide Ridge Road to transfer equipment and materials.

Customers uplake from the Lake Chelan Yacht Club will experience a scheduled power outage 6AM until 10AM.
The project is expected to continue today and into early next week.
Water wil be turned off between 1pm and 4pm both Wednesday, May 31st and Thursday, June 1st.

The first power outage is Wednesday, May 17th at 11:45 p.m. and will last until 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning.
The PUD has been working with the community since August 2015 to find a location for a new substation between Chelan and Manson.
If the smelter remains idle when June 2018 comes around, Alcoa would owe the PUD the 62-million dollars remaining on the contract.
