[7/13/16] Ballots Mailed Out This Week For Primary Election

Chelan County elections officials will be mailing out about 40 thousand ballots to registered voters by the end of this week.

Chelan County Auditor, Skip Moore, says military and overseas ballots were sent last month – and the rest will be sent this week…

Moore says this year’s primary voting period ends Tuesday, August 2nd, and features a US Senate contest and all 10 congressional races…

The 2016 Primary marks the 9th year in which the voter approved top 2 primary system is being used, Moore explains, which means 2 candidates, regardless of party affiliation, will be chosen for the General Election in November…

Moore says if you have not yet registered to vote, you should. But the only way to register for this 2016 primary election is to do so in person…

Moore adds that registered voters have about 2 weeks to mark and return their ballots…
