[8/3/16] Antilon Fire 90% Contained- Local Crews Take Control

Fire Managers on the Antilon Lake Fire burning near Manson have the fire about 90% contained and handed over control to local forest service and Department of Natural Resource crews early this morning.

Chelan County Sheriff’s Office lifted the Level 1 evacuation orders to 15 homes in the area late Tuesday afternoon.

Forest Service roads closed to due to firefighting operations in the area will reopen today as well.

Those in the area are advised the fire may continue to put out smoke for the next few days.

Those hot spots are in steep, remote areas- well within the fires interior.

A type 4 command team with 30 firefighters will continue to monitor the fire.

After more accurate mapping the fire size has been reduce to 315 acres of Forest Service and DNR protected property.

The type 3 incident management team that coordinated firefighting efforts since Saturday plan to leave this afternoon. Resources are being demobilized.

That fire was started Friday night at about 8pm by what authorities are calling an equipment failure- that investigation continues.
