Flooding, mudslides and fires were reported throughout Wednesday evening after thunderstorms swept through the region.

A flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Spokane, effective until 9:45 p.m. Cars drove through water on major streets and intersections in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee.

A mudslide temporarily closed Highway 97A about four miles north of Entiat.

The DOT opted to close the highway for the rest of the night. Crews are cleaning debris and mud off the highway, and it's been reopened to one lane of alternating traffic.

A small brush fire in Union Valley, located off Wheatland Road, was quickly contained. Another small fire was handled on Highway 97A near Knapps Coulee.

RiverCom dispatchers told KOZI News they had received numerous reports of smoke around the Lake Chelan Valley, particularly in the Bear Mountain area, but no fires were found.
